Beauty recipes with avocado
Plenty of ways to add this healthy fruit to your diet. But did you know that besides adding avocados to your diet, they are a perfect, natural beauty ingredient? Below I share 6 beauty recipes based on the black Hass avocado to add to your beauty routine.
- Tip 1: hair mask
The creamy flesh of the avocado makes your hair soft and shiny and gives a dry scalp a boost. Mash the meat of an avocado and make your own hair mask.
- Tip 2: facial mask
The flesh of avocado nourishes, moisturizes and soothes inflammation. This recipe for an avocado facial mask uses besides avocado also banana, almond butter and honey (Manuka honey 400+ has scientifically proven skin benefits and is therefore used in hospitals in burn treatment).
- Tip 3: dry elbow mask
Do you often suffer from dry elbows? Lubricate them with some mashed avocado, leave for 10 minutes, rinse and your elbows will immediately feel a lot softer. Again, you can add a teaspoon of honey for optimal effect.
- Tip 4: luxurious body mask
Since avocado works well to smooth dry elbows, you can also use avocado as a luxurious full body mask! For extra lubricity and maximum care, use 1 teaspoon avocado oil, almond oil or olive oil per mashed avocado. Leave on your naked body for 20 minutes and rinse off in the shower. Such a treat!
- Tip 5: calming after-shave balm
Prone to irritation after shaving your bikini area or legs? Place a bowl of mashed avocado in the fridge before shaving and spread it on your skin after shaving. Leave for 10 minutes and gently wash the substance from your skin with a soft cloth. The avocado soothes and nourishes your skin. This recipe can actually be great for your boyfriend as well!
- Tip 6: face scrub against oily skin
Do you suffer from oily skin? Pamper your skin once a week with a face scrub based on avocado, lime juice and salt. Caution: Do not scrub your face too rough; this stimulates sebum production and actually stimulates oily skin.
If you have dry skin, replace the salt with brown sugar. No brown sugar at home? Coconut sugar also works great and can later be used as a nutritious substitute with a lower Glycemic Index than table sugar.
The recipes are best used immediately after preparation. After that they are limited preserved (up to 3 days) in airtight containers in the refrigerator.
