Hass Hass Baby! Avocado Snack for Perfect Skin (and more)

Hass Hass Baby! Avocado Snack for Perfect Skin (and more)

4 pm; it’s time for a quick and healthy snack that nourishes your skin, treats acne, dry skin and prevents premature skin aging. Hass avocado is the best snack food for perfect skin, but there’s much more to (Hass) avocado …

Eat yourself pretty

Avocados contain many healthy omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin K, C & E, dietary fiber, potassium, beta-sitosterol, zinc, folic acid, vitamin B6 and copper.  Especially omega-3 fatty acids, C & E vitamins are great for your skin, providing you with a radiant skin glow, treating flaky skin and preventing premature skin aging. If you are having skin problems, it is wise to add avocados to your diet.

A medicinal super fruit

But avocados do not only have great effects on your appearance; these fruits are linked with decreasing the chances of developing breast cancer. Furthermore, they lower blood pressure, help control heart rate and relieve hypertension, treat anxiety and stress, promote healthy brain function, inflict allergies, relieve headache, lower bad cholesterol, increase muscular strength and metabolism and control water balance. That’s a mouth full!

Spice up your sex life

But the positive effects of avocados don’t stop here; another pleasant side effect of eating avocados is that they are famously known as an aphrodisiac. Besides, due to their high zinc content, they help fight infertility, since zinc is vital in a womans ability to produce healthy eggs. The same counts for men; zinc helps increase sperm count and sperm motility; exactly the reason why Mick Jagger followed a diet high in avocados.

Funny fact

The word “avocado” comes from the Aztec language Nahuatlword “ahuácatl”, which means testicle; a reference to the shape of the fruit.

Green or black avocado?

There are around 500-1000 types of avocado in the world. The most common types of avocado are the Florida avocado and the Californian a.k.a. Hass avocado. The main difference between the two is that the Florida avocado has less calories, while it’s lower in fat. But since these calories mainly come from monounsaturated fatty acids, you shouldn’t have to worry about the higher caloric value … unless you’ve planned to eat a dozen of the creamy fruit.

Taken this into account, I always choose the Hass avocado. It’s the avocado with the black, somewhat lumpy skin. Also, it is much creamier and tastier anyway.

Here’s a recipe for a quick 4 pm snack:

4 pm avocado snack

  • Cut up half a California Hass avocado in cubes
  • Add sea salt and pepper
  • Sit back to enjoythis tasty, creamy fruit.
It’s as simple as that!

Did you know you can also use a mashed avocado as a facial mask for super smooth skin? Leave the salt & pepper out though 😉

With my oldest I didn’t feel bonded at all. Even towards the end of the pregnancy, when he was real and I was talking to him, I was still just pleading with a stranger (I do not have pleasant pregnancies). But then he was born. That’s definitely the origin of the love at first sight phenomenon. I don’t believe it happens with grown people, but with your babe, it’s legit. Even if you love them before they’re out, the magnitude gets turned up to 11 and you instantly love them so much it leaves you literally breathless, gasping for air because even your lungs have filled up with love and devotion and infatuation.

I don’t know sometimes it takes the birth to trigger the love. If it’s because he was my first and I didn’t really understand what was gonna happen, or because I was only 23 and my brain wasn’t done cooking. Whatever it was though. It ultimately didn’t have any effect in the long run.

Of course, this was how it played out for me, and not a guarantee that it’s how it’ll go for you. So to the mama who’s reading this with fear and anxiety because you don’t love your baby yet, whether he’s still cooking or fresh out of the oven, that’s okay. You’ll get there. Even if you have to meet him and get to know him, and fall in love the slow way. There’s nothing wrong with taking your time and savoring the buildup. And finally, perhaps you’ve heard this already, but maybe not, or maybe you need to hear it again. The fact that you’re worried about being a good mom means that you ARE a good mom. Scientific fact. *hug*

  2. Hi Angela,

Avocado is my all time favorite. I enjoy eating this creamy fruit with no any additional toppings or condiments to taste, the fruit alone is enough – yummy. Thank you for sharing. Avocado is really beneficial for skin care.
