Victoria’s Secret model Cameron puts her beauty in perspective.

Beauty ideals have always existed and have been focused on for centuries. Models are the ones that represent a beauty ideal and so we can assume that models possess the ideal looks. It is in our natural system to meet a beauty ideal. Maybe that’s why being a model is the dream of many little, and the goal of older girls.

So let’s say you’d perfectly fit into this beauty ideal: you’re pretty, tall and with a body like yours, you’re getting well paid for modeling underwear. Lucky you! But are looks really everything? Cameron Russell, who has been a model for 10 years, stresses it’s not.

At TedX MidAtlantic, she  admits she won “a genetic lottery”. But don’t judge her by her looks; in this fearless talk, she takes a wry look at the industry that had her looking highly seductive at barely 16-years-old.

Thank you Cameron for sharing your thoughts on beauty!
