Model Food: Apple & Almond Butter Beauty Snack

Models, how great would it be if we could snack on things that are not just delish, but also improve our skin? Here’s a quick apple & almond butter beauty snack that contributes to a beautiful, soft, radiant skin.

Apples are also very healthy, beautifying and waistline friendly, so an apple is my perfect snack. I carry at least one apple in my bag when I am on the road, when I am shooting or even when I go to them gym to have it pre- or post-workout. 

I love apples because they are juicy, sweet and crunchy. I love them even more  combined with almond butter, wich I am a bit addicted to (don’t tell anyone I like to eat almond butter right from the jar with a spoon :)

Health & beauty benefits of almonds
Compared to other nuts, almonds are the highest in protein, fiber, calcium, vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol), riboflavin and niacin. Almonds contain a healthy unsaturated fat, about 13 grams per serving. They only contain less than 1 gram saturated fat per serving. Fats have the property to help slow down the absorption of carbohydrates. That’s why it’s wise to add fat – like hemp seed oil or an avocado – to fresh fruit smoothies.

Because of its nutrients, almonds are associated with the reduction of PMS symptoms and prevention of premature skin aging. Besides, almonds help maintain muscle mass due to their protein content.

Apples also have great benefits to our body. They are full of fibers, which stimulate the digestive system, help you feel full longer and slow down the absorption of carbohydrates. Moreover, apples are rich in a.o. vitamin C, which is complementary to your overall health and even slow down skin wrinkling.

Ingredients
  1. 1 large organic sweet apple
  2. 1 large tablespoon organic almond butter
Instructions
  1. Wash the apple, but don’t peel it; most vitamins are right under the skin.
  2. Cut the apple into slices.
  3. Dip the apple slices in the almond butter.
